Ingredients

  • 8 large lettuce leaves (Romaine, butter lettuce, or iceberg lettuce)

  • 8 slices cooked bacon

  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • Optional: 1 ripe avocado, sliced

  • Optional: 1/4 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite variety)

  • Optional: Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: Fresh herbs (such as basil or parsley) for garnish

Cooking Instructions

  1. Wash and pat dry the lettuce leaves.

  2. Lay them flat on a clean surface.

  3. Cook the bacon until crispy, then drain on paper towels and set aside.

  4. Wash and slice the tomatoes.

  5. If using, slice the avocado and shred the cheese.

  6. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise evenly over each lettuce leaf.

  7. Adjust the amount of mayonnaise to your taste preference.

  8. Place a slice of cooked bacon on top of each mayonnaise-covered lettuce leaf.

  9. If the bacon slices are too long, you can break them into smaller pieces to fit.

  10. Lay several tomato slices on top of the bacon. Season with a little salt and pepper if desired.

  11. If using, place slices of avocado on top of the tomatoes for added creaminess and flavor.

  12. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the tomatoes and avocado.

  13. Add a few fresh herbs like basil or parsley for a fresh touch.

  14. Carefully fold the sides of the lettuce leaves over the fillings, then roll up the lettuce from the bottom to the top to form a wrap. If your lettuce leaves are particularly large, you can secure the wraps with toothpicks to help them hold together.

Tips

  • For added crunch, you can include sliced cucumbers or shredded carrots in your wraps.

  • These wraps are perfect for a quick lunch or snack and can be made ahead of time.

  • If making ahead, store the wraps in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within a few hours to maintain freshness.

  • If you prefer a bit of spice, add a few slices of jalapeño or a dash of hot sauce to the wraps.
